Pastor, Mitchell Martin

Mitchell Martin was born in his hometown of Lewisville, Texas in 1964. After graduating from Lewisville High School in 1983, Mitchell met the love of his life, Cissy. They married and went on to own and operate their own construction company building new homes and remodels.
In 1988, Mitchell made the life-changing decision to put his trust in Jesus while attending Northview Baptist Church. There he was mentored and really grew in his knowledge of the Word and his love for the Lord.
He was ordained as a Minister of the Gospel in 1999 by Lakeland Baptist Church and was sent out to serve in Prison Ministry while continuing in construction. Mitchell continued to pursue his love for the Bible and eventually enrolled in Seminary where he earned his Master of Divinity degree from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary and served full time on staff at Lakeland.
Married to the love of his life, Cissy for over 40 years, they relocated to North Idaho in 2020 and enjoy spending as much time as possible with their three granddaughters, their daughter Mackenzie and her husband Colby that live nearby.
Since the beginning of his involvement in ministry, Mitchell has had the privilege of serving in various ministry capacities through the years, including Associate Pastor of Education, Associate Pastor of Evangelism, and Associate Pastor of Counseling. He also recently served as Senior Pastor of a local church here in Idaho. In 2023, the Lord opened the door to begin a new work here in Post Falls where he is currently serving as Senior Pastor.
Mitchell and Cissy have a genuine love for the Lord, passionate hearts for the lost, and delight in reaching out to the community.
Their prayer for New Hope Fellowship is that it will become a place of hope where people can learn to walk in the freedom Christ brings.
“Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope by the powers of the Holy Spirit”. Romans 15:13
Our Elders
Matt Drechsel

Born and raised on his family’s farm, Matt has spent his whole life in Worley, Idaho, just south of Coeur d’Alene. While attending Multnomah School of the Bible (now Multnomah University) in Portland, OR he met and married Karen Beaumont, a “preacher’s kid” raised in the Portland area. Matt continues to manage the family farm with his brother, and during their 40 plus years of marriage he and Karen have raised two daughters and are thoroughly enjoying their eight grandchildren! Matt ‘never meets a stranger’, ready to lend a hand or be a leader where needed, and Karen has enjoyed working with children’s ministries and helping where needed at church. Over the years they have both spent their lives involved in many aspects of church ministry and leadership and are excited to be a part of New Hope Fellowship as it grows and thrives here in North Idaho!
